Historic H.B. Denker Mansion
Completed in 1894 by Henry B. Denker, mayor of St. Charles from 1902-1910, the home was originally called the Twin Tower House, and was the first home built in St. Charles with a furnace. Mr. Denker was born January 30, 1839, in Hannover, Germany, came to this country in 1859, and was one of the founders of the St. Charles Car Company, serving as its President from 1895 until its sale to the American Car and Foundry Company, now known as ACF Industries, a national manufacturer of new railcars and railcar components.
